Good job! You closed the deal. After you’ve high-fived your sales co-workers and had a celebratory drink, remember who you have to thank for that good mood– your customer. Send a thank you sales letter as soon as possible. Telling your customers how happy you are to have their business builds a good relationship and maybe even the chance to sell more later.
You can also thank your customers for their second (or 5th or 10th) order, helping you win a salesperson of the month award, or just taking the time to listen to you explain your goods before any money is exchanged. When people know you value their time, they value you.
Don’t forget to include your business card with every thank you note.
